Double Cardio & Core EMOM (At Home, No Equipment)

I love workouts where you repeat yourself a bunch of times in a row. I know some might find this tedious, and I totally get it, but try to think of it like this:

  1. It’s simple. You don’t have to think about much other than what you’re doing, allowing for more concentration on your workout.

  2. It’s a great way to challenge yourself by comparing your time on each round. If you end at the same or better time, that’s an amazing feeling, and often enough it actually happen.

Today’s workout is one of the best examples of this - a Double Cardio & Core EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute).

Target: Cardio, core, legs.

Level: Int.-Adv.

Equipment: A timer, and some space to move side-to-side.

Fun: ohhhhh yeaaa!

Rules:

  • Two separate EMOMs, for 5 minutes each (do more or less depending on how much time you have).

  • EMOM = Every Minute On the Minute

  • Set a 1 minute timer, or use an interval app and set 5x 1 minute intervals.

    • This is much easier with an interval timer, I use Tabata Pro

  • Goal = finish the exercise and reps listed in under a minute, and when you do, you get a break until the next minute starts. When the next minute starts, you repeat the same thing. If you do 5 minutes, that means 5 rounds. Makes sense?

  • All jumping exercises can be modified to low intensity by turning the jump into a step.

5min EMOM #1

10x Low Plank Leg Lifts (5 each side)

20x Speedskaters (10 each side)

5min EMOM #2

20x Side-to-Side Hops (10 each side)

20x Plank Lateral Climbers (10 each side)
