Core AMRAP with Dumbbells

You should know by now that I love AMRAPs (and if you don’t already, I’m hoping you will soon). They’re so versatile and a great way to do almost any type of workout. It’s a style of workout you can do anywhere, even with barely any time at all (if you choose appropriate exercises that is)!

Today’s AMRAP focuses on your core, and uses dumbbells for two of the exercises. If you don’t have any, don’t worry, you can do them both without.

Target: abs, back, chest, glutes, and hammies

Level: beginner - intermediate

Equipment: dumbbells, a stopwatch and your kickass self

Fun: hellz to the yea!

How to: Pick a certain amount of time, set a timer and complete as many rounds of the exercises below as you can in that amount of time.

AMRAP

5x Wide Push Ups

10x High Plank Hand Walk

15x Sit Up + Russian Twist

20x 1-Leg Deadlift + Row (10 each side)

Note:

  1. Wide Push Ups and High Plank Hand Walk can both be done on your knees on an incline if it’s too difficult on your toes.

  2. Sit Up + Russian Twist and 1-Leg Deadlift + Row can both be done without dumbbells or using water bottles/cans instead. It will make the exercise less challenging, but that might be necessary for some of you. For others, anything is better than nothing, so if you don’t have weights, make the best of what you do have!
